AI Consulting

AI Consulting for Creative Groups
While I don’t consult exclusively for companies in the creative industries, agencies and creative teams represent my sweet spot, simply because of my own agency background.
Most creative teams are already using AI in some form… brainstorming, drafting, visual exploration, internal research. What’s far less common is agency-wide coherence: shared workflows, agreed standards, or a clear sense of how AI contributes to long-term differentiation, rather than short-term efficiency.
I help agencies and creative teams move beyond ad-hoc AI use—toward structured workflows, proprietary thinking, and defensible creative advantage.
My Particular Approach to Using AI Within a Creative Environment
Some AI consultants come in with a heavy focus on agentic workflows—multiple autonomous agents generating ideas, producing content, and “running” creative work at scale.
On paper, it looks efficient. In reality, it often strips the human element out of the process. When creativity is pushed too far into automation, the work starts to converge. It gets faster, yes—but it also starts to sound and look like everyone else’s.
My approach starts from a different place. I believe an agency’s real value lives in human judgment, taste, and creative tension. AI should support that value, not replace it
How I Typically Work
Every engagement is tailored, but most follow a clear progression from discovery through to final implementation.
Discovery & Workflow Mapping
We begin by looking at how work actually flows through your agency today:
- How ideas are developed
- Where decisions are made
- Where AI is already being used (officially or unofficially)
- Where quality, originality, or accountability may be at risk
The goal is to understand your real creative workflows—not idealized ones.
AI Use Cases Inside the Workflow
Next, we identify where AI genuinely adds value, for example:
- Early-stage ideation and concept expansion
- Visual exploration and rapid prototyping
- Research synthesis and pattern spotting
- Internal draft development and iteration
Just as importantly, we define where AI requires stronger human checkpoints, or shouldn’t be used at all.
Principles, Guardrails & Standards
We establish shared agency-wide principles that sit inside your workflows, covering:
- Quality and originality thresholds
- Human accountability and review points
- Client-facing usage and disclosure
- Data, confidentiality, and IP considerations
These guardrails protect creative confidence while allowing experimentation.
From Workflows to Proprietary IP
For some agencies, the next step is turning internal know-how into proprietary AI assets.
This might include:
- Custom GPTs trained on your agency’s thinking frameworks, creative standards, or brand methodologies
- Brand-voice or tone-of-thinking systems that guide work without dictating outputs
- Internal AI tools that reflect how your agency thinks, not how the internet thinks
I don’t position agencies as software companies, but I do help them:
- Identify where proprietary systems make strategic sense
- Design workflows that support those systems
- Use AI to codify judgment, not replace it
This kind of IP becomes part of your value story in pitches, client retention, and pricing conversations.
Why Me
I’ve spent decades working with writers, designers, agencies, and creative businesses—long before AI arrived. I understand how creative work gets diluted when systems are introduced without care, and how powerful they can be when designed thoughtfully.
My role isn’t to push tools.
It’s to help agencies build workflows, principles, and proprietary advantage that keep them distinctive in an AI-saturated world.
Who This Is For
- Advertising and creative agencies
- Design studios and brand consultancies
- Content-led organizations
- Leadership teams navigating early or unstructured AI adoption
If you’re experimenting with AI but want to move beyond surface-level use—toward clearer workflows, stronger differentiation, and defensible value—I can help you get there.
